Everyone Orchestra (Conducted by Matt Butler)
Everyone Orchestra (Conducted by Matt Butler)
The Everyone Orchestra’s conductor, Matt Butler has been leading a rotating cast of accredited musicians through full-length shows that are entirely improvised, since 2001, after touring with the rock band Jambay. In 2012, Butler gathered particularly well-known musicians from bands like Phish, Moe., and others, and recorded Everyone Orchestra’s first studio album, Brooklyn Sessions [2012], which was still largely improvised.
“The experience of playing with different musicians, improvising every night, and getting the crowd involved in ways that they can’t be at a regular show has provided an unparalleled live music experience,” said Butler.
The Everyone Orchestra conductor/founder Matt Butler has taken its participants, both on stage and off, on improvisational journeys with the most diverse of lineups at festivals, theaters and philanthropic events both nationally and internationally. A laundry list of hundreds of musicians, dancers, singers, guest conductors and community organizations have embraced the experience of EO in single shots of musical adrenaline to the soul. Tuning in to his energy, the band and audience utilize The Conductor as their pivot to the set mood of each passing jam as he communicates with the musicians using hand signs, whiteboard and assorted mime suggestions.
The list of Everyone Orchestra participants is an increasingly wide and intercontinental group including members of The Grateful Dead, Phish, Furthur, Ratdog, Trey Anastasio Band, Gov’t Mule, String Cheese Incident, moe., members of Allman Brothers Band. including Oteil Burbridge, Yonder Mountain String Band, The New Mastersounds, Big Gigantic, The Punch Brothers, Dumpstaphunk, Galactic, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Railroad Earth, Thievery Corporation, Lettuce, Infamous Stringdusters, Leftover Salmon, The Flecktones, Club d’Elf, ALO, Tea Leaf Green, Tuvan throat singers, live painters, dancers, chanters, choirs, hula hoopers, firespinners, jugglers, stiltwalkers, storytellers, a presidential candidate and hundreds of others among a growing legion of other performers.
Marching clearly into uncharted territory, The Everyone Orchestra balances the challenges of live group improvisation with triumphant tension and release conduits of music which head deep into the soul. This unique collaborative of performance deeply encourages and requires audience interaction. The edge of your seat enthusiasm for what is next is the fuel behind the continuous musical experiment of The Everyone Orchestra.

Ft. Steve Kimock
Ft. Steve Kimock
teve Kimock hit the road in 2012 under his own moniker featuring his mastery of small band improvisation. For his first large-scale touring project in two years, he brought along for the ride, Wizard of Woo Bernie Worrell on keys (Parliament Funkadelic, Talking Heads), drummer Wally Ingram (Sheryl Crow, David Lindley), and bassist Andy Hess (Gov’t Mule, Black Crowes). The band played new original material while celebrating Kimock’s rich catalog of music more than 30 years in the making.
Holly Bowling
Holly Bowling
Holly Bowling melds classical piano chops with a dedicated love of the music of Phish. Her obsession with the jamband's famous rendition of "Tweezer" from their 7/31/13 Lake Tahoe show led her to transcribe this 37-minute improvisational masterpiece note-for-note and arrange it for solo piano. The process, both painstaking and fulfilling, inspired her to transform other Phish songs and well-known live jams into solo piano interpretations as well.

The dual experiences of studying classical piano since age five and attending close to 300 Phish shows since her first one in 2002 form the basis for Holly's unique arrangements of Phish songs. Her debut album Distillation of a Dream, featuring piano renditions of several notable live Phish jams along with a full disc of studio tracks, is set to be released this summer.

Jennifer Hartswick (Trey Anastasio Band)
Jennifer Hartswick (Trey Anastasio Band)
Jennifer Hartswick is one of the most exciting performers in music today. She inspires audiences all over the world with her powerful voice and commanding trumpet playing. She exudes confidence and joy and brings her own refreshing spirit to the stage every time she performs. Jennifer's music is honest, soulful and comes with a maturity far beyond her years.

Her latest album, True, released in 2007 on Rubber Jungle Records, is a lithe collection of lesser-heard jazz standards. The album glides effortlessly from the smooth, mellow tones of Gentle Rain and With Every Breath I Take to the up-tempo swing of That's All and Nature Boy. Jennifer's interpretations are always fresh and innovative, informed by a mix of youthful ambition and musical wisdom beyond her years.

Jennifer's live performances are renowned as spontaneous, joyful and contagious. Her natural charisma and sincerity shines through, and each performance is a celebration of musical collaboration; the camaraderie between Jennifer and her band mates is always visible. And whether she is wailing on the trumpet or singing an intimate vocal solo, her performance is all part of a single seamless instrument, one that is played not only with astounding technical proficiency, but also with sensitivity, conviction and heart.

Born in Vermont into a musical family, Jennifer began playing music at the age of four. As a teenager she became infatuated with the sounds of Oscar Peterson, Clifford Brown and Ella Fitzgerald. She lived and studied in New York City before attending the Hartt School of Music in Hartford, CT, where she studied the intricacies of the jazz idiom with Nat Reeves, Steve Davis, Jackie McLean and many other prominent jazz artists.

At the age of 20, having already recorded on two albums with Trey Anastasio (Story of the Ghost, Phish, 1998, and One Man's Trash, Trey Anastasio, 1998), Jennifer was asked to join Anastasio's new band. She has been an integral part of the band for the last ten years touring internationally and sharing the stage and studio such legends as Carlos Santana, Dave Matthews, The Rolling Stones and Herbie Hancock. She has also appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night With Conan OBrien, Austin City Limits, and many more.

Jennifer performs regularly with jazz, gospel and rock ensembles around the country. The Jennifer Hartswick Band has completed a new record to be released in the Spring of 2011.
Vinnie Amico (Moe.)
Vinnie Amico (Moe.)
I have been playing drums professionally for 24 years, 15 of which is with the band moe. I play many styles of music. My influences include rock, jazz, bluegrass, country, reggae and world music. As a kid I was heavily influenced by jazz due to my father, Sal Amico, playing bebop trumpet. I specialize in rock and improvisational music. I have played with members of the Grateful Dead, Phish, Allman Brothers Band, MMW, Sam Bush, and many others....

I endorse Yamaha Drums, Evans Drum Heads, Vic Virth sticks and Paiste Cymbals.
