Born in Montego Bay, Jamaica, I grew up surrounded by music at an early age. Listening to my mother singing in the church. When she would practice, I would sing with her. When I went to primary school, I was asked to try out for the school choir and was accepted. We went to other schools and churches to sing. The school choir tried out for a Jamaican festival where we went to Kingston to sing and were put on television for the week of independence. We did not win, but it was great to walk through where I lived and have people stop me a say that they saw me on the television. When I reached my teenage years, my mother filed for me to come and live in the States where I enrolled at Northwestern High School in Hyattsville, MD. During my time there, I entered into a talent show. Just being in the spotlight in Jamaica and here in the States cemented my mindset, my dream to be a singer. Right out of high school, I found a studio and started writing and recording. It took me a while to find my sound and find the money to do so. I sent out demos to recording companies but did not get any replies. I went to Jamaica and found a studio to record some of my native music. There I realized that this is what I wanted to do. This is the music that I want to be known for, reggae. I sent a demo to a local label and he told me that I needed to take some vocal lessons. I did, and now I am ready to put out my project.
