Gordon Sterling Presents: The Gypsy Sally's Jam
Add to Calendar
Welcome to Gordon Sterling Presents: The Gypsy Sally’s Jam! We are here to serve as a conduit for community and creativity, through music and fellowship. Open Jams are held two Tuesdays a month at Gypsy Sally’s, located at 3401 K St. NW in Georgetown. The jam is conducted as follows: bring your instruments (guitars, basses, drumsticks, horns, voice, etc). Backline w/ guitar amps & pedals rig x2, bass amp & pedals, drum kit, and keyboard are all provided. There will be buckets corresponding with each available instrument on the edge of the stage. Write your name down and put it in the bucket of the instrument you play. Gordon, our host, will randomly select one name out of each bucket and that group will then go onstage and jam for 10 minutes. No genre is off limits!!! Another way to play, is to bring a group of specific people you’d like to jam with to Gordon. This is known as a “select jam”, where you can also play whatever you’d like with the people you bring together. While the Jam is free to attend, donations are highly encouraged at the door to help keep the jam going. That donation goes directly to the musicians bringing the backline gear week after week and letting the public use them. This jam has been responsible for the birth of many friendships, bands, and unforgettable memories, come be a part of the fun!!!!!
