SONiA disappear fear
SONiA disappear fear
From the Opera House in Sydney to the bomb shelters in Israel to the Woody Guthrie Festival multiple first round Grammy singer songwriter SONiA disappear fear continues to excite and ignite audiences in the USA and around the world. Performing with her SONiA Santa Cruz guitar, piano, harmonica or a full band she is frequently described as the ‘Female Dylan’. Though that comparison is flattering there is more to this gal from Baltimore who sings and writes in Hebrew, Spanish, English and Arabic. What makes SONiA SONiA is her powerful lyrics delivered in her inimitable style filled with passion and hope. She has recently shared the stage with some of her heroes including Bruce Springsteen, Pete Seeger, and Chris Thiele. SONiA's proudest moments were singing with Peter, Paul and Mary at the Lincoln Memorial in 2002 and in 2012 receiving the Coin of Honor from the United States Army for her humanitarian songs while on tour in Mackenbach, Germany.
SONiA disappear fear has gained a devoted fan base in more than 20 countries performing her songs that range in the styles of Rock, Folk, Country, Latin, blues and Reggae. Selling over half a million units - the honesty of her songs touches the hearts and minds of people from a wide spectrum of social and ethnic backgrounds based on the premise that "when you disappear fear between people what you have is love".

Critics Choice:

Rutstein on guitar and piano and a small circle of friends create lean yet surprisingly colorful folk-pop. - Mike Joyce, Washington Post

SONiA of disappear fear had the audience actually holding our collective breath in awe. It was one of the most electric live ‘performances I'd ever seen. In SONiA, I found a contemporary artist with Lennon's way with a phrase. From that night until this, she's been my favorite singer/songwriter." - Cliff Weimer, In the Balcony

"Quirky and smart, a poet with a guitar, SONiA is a master of crafting songs that make you want to simultaneously dance, sing, and change the world." - Georgia Voice, USA

“....with a voice that is raspy yet pure and lyrical melodies reminiscent of Bob Dylan, Springsteen, and Joni Mitchell." - Waiheke Jazz Festival, New Zealand
SONiA has returned with her best album in years, Broken Film … and it's high point is the breathtaking “The Banker” --Gregg Shapiro, Bay Area Reporter.
There is an exuberance and passion shining from SONiA as she warms the audience with her humanity, charm and a touch of glamour. --Roger Dietz, Sing Out Magazine
Phoebe Hunt & The Gatherers
Phoebe Hunt & The Gatherers
An accomplished Americana instrumentalist with foundations in jazz and swing music, Phoebe makes an impressive creative leap with Shanti's Shadow, available June 2. It’s the culmination of a five year journey that has taken her from her Austin roots through Music Row, Brooklyn, and even to India to study with seventh-generation master violinist Kala Ramnath. Along the way, Phoebe found her voice and delivered her most inspired set of songs to date -- the soundtrack to her self-discovery.

Shanti’s Shadow marks an arrival for Phoebe Hunt, whose artistic and personal journeys have deep story lines. We would highlight her involvement with various other musical projects including Belleville Outfit, her sibling duo the Hunt Sisters and The New American Songbook, as well as her pursuits to be an agent of positive social change and ministry through her work with Fuel Our Fire, One Village Music Project and the Reveille Songwriting Retreat, which pairs professional songwriters and war veterans.

These masterfully crafted songs are brought to life by the musicians Phoebe has gathered, each a virtuoso in their own right. Currently, the gatherers are Roy Williams (guitar), Dominick Leslie (mandolin), Sam Reider (piano/accordion), Nick Falk (drums) and Jared Engel/Dave Speranza (upright bass). The album, "Shanti’s Shadow" is garnished with additional guests who are dear to Phoebe’s heart: Stephanie Hunt and Jazz Mills - vocal harmonies, Alex Hargreaves and Nathaniel Smith - strings. Each of these musicians is a leader in their own right and have won awards and toured the world with some of the best musicians on the planet
