Oz Noy
Oz Noy
Oz Noy is a virtuoso guitar player from Israel, who started his professional career at the age of 13 playing jazz, blues, pop and rock music. By age 16, he was already playing with the top Israeli musicians and artists, and by age 24, was one of the most established studio guitar players in the country. He was also a member of the house band on Israel's top-rated television show for over two years. Since he arrived in New York in 1996, he has made a huge impact on the local music scene with his unique blend of jazz, funk, rock, blues and R&B built on intoxicating grooves.
In 2003, Oz released his debut record, "Oz Live," recorded at NYC's legendary Bitter End. Oz’s band featured drummers Anton Fig and Keith Carlock and bassists Will Lee, James Genus and Reggie Washington.
In 2004, Oz signed to Magna Carta Records and in 2005 released his highly-acclaimed studio record “HA!” with his All-Star band and special guests Mike Stern and George Whitty.
Oz Noy has performed, toured and recorded with:
Richard Bona, Chris Botti, Gavin DeGraw, Harry Belafonte, Toni Braxton, Phoebe Snow, Nile Rogers, Mike Clark, Jeff ‘Tain’ Watts, Mike Manieri, The East Village Opera Company, Roger Glove.
Played on Broadway shows such as: Smoky Joe’s cafe, Saturday night fever, Hair Spray, Little shop of Horrors.
Ozone Squeeze
Ozone Squeeze
Powerhouse blues / rock / jazz / funk guitarist Oz Noy joins forces with the talented Rai Thistlethwayte from Australia, the lead singer, keyboardist, and primary songwriter in the Australian pop rock band Thirsty Merc to form Ozone Squeeze.
Oz has been at the forefront of edgy-yet-rootsy guitar playing since he arrived in New York from Israel in the 1990’s. He has released four albums on the Abstract Logix label, and won Guitar Player magazine’s reader polls for “Best guitar riff on a record” (2007), “Best new talent” (2008), and “Best out there guitar player” (2013).
Rai Thistlethwayte started Thirsty Merc, a rock band which would release three successful albums (one platinum, one double-platinum in Australia). He has also performed in a number of jazz combos with the likes of Christian McBride and James Muller.
Darren Stanley has been in the music business performing, teaching and recording for the last 25 years. In recent years, he has worked with Col. Bruce Hampton, Delta Moon, and Donna the Buffalo.
Ozone Squeeze members are each trendsetters and masters of groove. This collaboration is shaping up to be quite special.
Ozone Squeeze is: Oz Noy (guitar), Rai Thistlethwayte (keys and vocals), and Darren Stanley (drums).

Biography
From the depths of rock n’ roll, funk and dance music Hell comes Disco Risqué. Formed in early 2014 in Charlottesville, Virginia, guitarist Charlie Murchie, drummer Robert Prescott and bassist John Bruner have spent their time together taking pieces of their souls, personalities and life experiences and manifesting them into notes and lyrics with one goal: To take over the world one sweaty, borderline psychotic music lover at a time. Since adding vocalist and trumpet player, Ryan Calonder, in early 2015 their music has taken on a warmth and soulful body that completes the sound they set out to achieve and a viciously captivating element to their live performances.
In the Fall of 2015 Disco Risqué released their debut self-titled double album recorded at The Sound Recording Studio in Charlottesville, Virginia. This ambitious release marks a milestone for the band and is, “The most important album to come out of Virginia in decades,” according to band manager Steve Lanza. The record pulls from influences all over the musical spectrum ranging from heavy metal riffs to espionage surfer tunes, catchy lyrical hooks, funky breaks and everything in-between.
